THANK YOU GEORGIA!
Thanks to your support we lead the Runoff election by a 60% margin securing the Democratic nomination to become the next Insurance Commissioner of Georgia. Our campaign is focused on one priority: delivering real relief to Georgia families facing skyrocketing Insurance Premiums.
As the only candidate in this race, with legislative, policy experience and two decades of public service.
Let's compare qualifications: 3 terms in the Georgia State Legislature, Citywide Atlanta City Councilmember, and 15 years in federal service with the Department of Homeland Security and the Small Business Administration, providing hands-on expertise in public safety, economic development, and emergency response.
I offer a unique comprehensive blend of federal, state, and local public‑service experience to the field of insurance regulation and consumer protection in Georgia. Her career reflects more than two decades of crisis management, legislative leadership, and statewide engagement with Georgia’s communities.

Why legislative and policy experience is important for Insurance Oversight

Deep operational knowledge of how insurance systems function during crises
-
Direct experience supporting families and businesses navigating claims
-
Legislative and regulatory expertise needed to strengthen consumer protections
-
Statewide perspective on the diverse needs of Georgia’s urban, rural, and coastal communities
This professional expertise provides the in-depth knowledge and understanding of both the structural challenges in Georgia’s insurance market and the lived experiences of the consumers most affected by rising costs.

Delivering for Consumers by strengthening insurance equity and consumer protection in Georgia
I bring more than two decades of crisis-tested public service to insurance oversight:
-
Legislative experience: Three terms in the Georgia House of Representatives, working on consumer protection, public safety, and equity in access to essential services.
-
Local governance: Citywide member of the Atlanta City Council, succeeding Andre Dickens, with responsibility for citywide operations, budgeting, and accountability.
-
Disaster and recovery expertise:
-
FEMA, supporting families through complex claims and recovery processes.
-
SBA, assisting small businesses and households impacted by natural disasters with financing, continuity, and rebuilding.
-
This combination—federal disaster work, state legislation, and citywide governance—directly aligns with the mission of the Georgia Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner: protecting families through fair regulation, consumer services, rate review, and oversight of insurers and agents.

I stand on a foundation of public service and legislative victories. The people of Georgia deserve proven leadership, look at the record, look at the results
